I’m Autumn Patrick, the Accounting Manager at Midwest Financial Group and I’m located in the Prairie du Sac office. I graduated from UW Madison with my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an emphasis in Actuarial Science. Immediately after graduation, I became a licensed property and casualty insurance agent, supporting a high performing sales team at a commercial insurance broker in the Madison area. Not long after, I was promoted to the Risk Management Analyst role, helping clients manage their Workers' Compensation risks through data analysis and reporting. At that time, my family purchased a winter recreation business, and I began working there as the Office Manager; controlling Payroll and Human Resources for 200 employees, Accounts Payable and Receivable for 50+ vendors, cash management and accounting of annual revenue near $5 million, information technology, point of sale management, and more. As a business owner, I've learned so much! I've had to wear several different hats and jump into roles where I have very little direct experience. I've positioned myself with the ability to stay calm and troubleshoot in any situation. I've also been a part of many volunteer organizations, local government boards, public service boards, and chamber of commerce groups.
It has always been extremely important for me to have a role that allows me to exercise the part of my brain that can analyze, organize, calculate, and follow policies and procedures, but people truly are my passion! I love leading teams and creating relationships with customers. The role as Accounting Manager allows me to be impactful in both ways, exercising the talents I’m most proud of. A successful day for me includes communicating complex ideas or concepts amongst my team/my customer, using collaboration to level-set, and finishing a meeting with confidence that we have what we need to make progress together. Having been in my customers’ shoes as a business owner, I can relate to my customers’ challenges.
Born and raised in the Madison area, I love every season Wisconsin has to offer. My household’s favorite seasons allow us to take walks and relax in our yard at dusk. I have two four-legged best friends, Samson and Tyler, and we love to spend time outdoors watching birds, gardening, and walking. The best way for me to create balance with my professional life is through DIY projects and other creative outlets. If it can sparkle, it should! Positivity is a choice that I choose every day; I love to laugh and smile and hope I can brighten as many people’s day as possible! If you have corny jokes, please plan to share them with me (I’m always needing new material!)
