Small Purposeful Act of Kindness | Midwest Financial Group

All it takes is a spark.

One good deed might not seem like much, but if everyone did something good for someone else, then the cycle of generosity and kindness can spark us to become better people.

Midwest Financial Group proudly established the S.P.A.R.K. Society in 2014 and manages it as its charitable branch.

At Midwest Financial Group, philanthropy is part of our culture. It’s through the S.P.A.R.K. (Small Purposeful Acts of Random Kindness) Society that we are able to share in the opportunity to give back directly, to localized causes, special needs individuals, families facing challenges, and community outreach. The S.P.A.R.K. Society is dedicated to inspiring positive change and enriching the lives closest around us and it is our goal to make the world around us a better place, one spark at a time.

We are passionate about making a difference, actively participating in local fundraisers and collaborating with various organizations to create a positive impact in the community including:

Stuff The Bus: A community initiative organized by Channel 3000 to collect school supplies for local students in need to ensure they have the school year prepared.

Race Day Events: A series of running events that we participate in to support various charitable causes and help raise funds and awareness for various charitable causes.

Toys for Tots: Nationwide program that collects and distributes toys for children in need during the holiday season.

Partnered with 6:8 and Hands4Harvest: Collaboration of organizations focused on providing food, resources, and support to those facing economic hardships in the community.

Boys & Girls Club Koats for Kids: A program that collects and distributes winter coats to children in need.

Madison Mini-Marathon & 5K: A running event that Midwest Financial Group proudly sponsors, bringing together the community to raise funds and support local charities.

Porchlight: A non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness in the community.

The Beacon: A community organization that provides emergency shelter, resources, and support services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

The Goodman Center: A community hub offering a range of educational, recreational, and social services to support individuals and families in the Madison area.

S.P.A.R.K. begun as an initiative with our clients who were chosen each year to join the S.P.A.R.K. Society. Each new participant was given a gift card and asked to use it as a catalyst to something great whether through donations, volunteering, or acts of kindness. Over the years, alumni members contributed thousands of dollars to worthy recipients, often adding their own funds beyond the initial $100 SPARK Card.
