Zachary Mester

My name is Zach, and I am a Tax Associate at Midwest Financial Group.  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management where I majored in both Accounting and Finance & Risk Management Insurance and minored in Business Law.  My interest in providing tax services has only grown since starting at Midwest.  I’m currently working towards CPA licensure and couldn’t be more excited to widen my experience here.  One of the most fulfilling parts of my work is seeing the positive impact we can have on a client through our team approach.

Outside of my work here, I enjoy an active lifestyle (although I do love an occasional night in, watching tv with Henry, my Maine Coon cat, curled up next to me).  Originally from Belmont, Wisconsin, moving to Minneapolis has been exciting.  Attending concerts, watching sporting events, going skiing, playing pickleball, exploring new restaurants - I’m usually up to something new every week.  A current adventure of mine is working towards getting my SCUBA certification.  Oh, and I love to travel!  I always look forward to my yearly family trip to the lakes of Northern Wisconsin.  One of my favorite travel experiences was a trip to Costa Rica where I participated in a homestay with a local family.  I learned so much about their culture and even picked up on some Spanish.  I cannot wait for my next experience, whatever it may be!
